The foundation of filmmaking is a hundred hours online course spread across three-hour weekend sessions for four months. Youngsters will learn the basics of movie storytelling, music, sound, editing, camera, recording, writing and the A-Z of film-making professions that collaborate to make visual storytelling perfect.

Youngsters are filled with imagination and drama. This course is designed to openly express their imagination and interests by showing them the different aspects of filmmaking. Children are encouraged to create short films, understand movies by breaking down every factor from the story studying to character roles, knowing the workings of various film-making artists through sessions, field trips, and online peer communication.

The module will cover various how-to sessions on recording, making short films, storytelling, acting, photography, camera understanding, and more. The program will also help children make better lifestyle choices through personality development and building confidence. Children are encouraged to practice on their cameras and mobile phones.

At the end of the course young artist will understand the entire involvement of various roles in film-making. You never know your child could be a renowned filmmaker in the future.

The curriculum covers

Module 1: Stories (A journey into the fascinating world of stories to bring out young and passionate storytellers, Dissecting the stories to inquire and understand the heart of the story, exercises to write their own stories, giving pointers and goals.)

Module 2: Record Stories (To record various sounds and make a story)

Module 3: Character development (Designing Character)

Module 4: Frame (Shots, Scene, Sequence, writing exercise on what happening on the Screen by watching movie)

Module 5: Film Maker In You (Exploring the creative possibilities in your stories, and how can you turn them into films, understanding power of cinema to tell a story, shot division and story board covers aspects that are needed to take a shot, i.e., composition, movement, and camera aspects.)

Module 6: Music (Music listening sessions for basic understanding of music)

Module 7: Importance of Sound (Record Different Human Voices & Identifying characters with the help of audio, Discussion on the recorded voices and possible character impression, Listening and recording different people when they speak. How people speak…. Why they sound different… Give character to a voice…)

Module 8: Record Different environment and other sound depicting a time zone, mood or atmosphere type. (Listening and recording representative sound so that we can identify only with that particular time zone, mood or surrounding.)

Module 9: Cameras (To explore and understand the working of a camera, the most essential tool of a filmmaker. A systematic learning approach to handling a mobile camera to make films. Insight into the functioning of a camera, and key aspects of it. Students to practice various camera movements like pan, tilt, track, and zoom.)

Module 10: Continuity (Understanding Continuity through Comics Book 180 Degree Rule)

Module 11: Make a News Story as Reporter (Identify subject, Research, Write a news story)

Module 12: Blogging (Concept of Blogging & encouraged to upload all project videos. Looking at things around you in DIY way like Dressing, Makeup, Painting, Cooking A Dish, Introduce A Product. Food Critic. Shopper In you, Tutorial Of making different objects, DIY… Do It Yourself.)

Module 13: Joining Shorts Together (How to edit your shots together to make powerful and impactful presentations.)

Module 14: Kuleshov’s effect Exercise (Where the participants take different shots, and join them together on a mobile app, to create new meanings. Through this exercise the participants will understand the basic principles of editing, in a simple and fun way.)

Module 15: A-Z Production (Shoot a Short Movie)

Module 16: A journey to the various stages of filmmaking. ((Plan a simple short film to be shoot in their house backyard with their siblings, friends, and family, designating different roles as cast & crew to different members. Shoot & Edit)

Module 17: Idea development, writing, shot division, Shooting, Edit & Review

Module 18: Assignment (Students shall create various DIY project videos & upload on their BLOG, making an audio story for radio, making a travelogue using Videos, create Mom’s cookery video, making a small documentary on any family member.

Module 19: Making Montage (Presenting Ideas and concepts. A Day in Your Life/ Someone’s Life Morning to Night, film representative shots of activity in different time and create a day’s journey. Emphasis on transition from one activity to another)

Module 20: Additional Incentive for Level 2 Student (After successful completion of course, ICE shall arrange Live Studio Field Visit @ Mumbai on specified date. Interested candidate can join in Mumbai for Studio Visit. Candidate to bore Travel & Stay expenditure for reaching Mumbai.)

Program Certificate

Students who complete any course are awarded certificates that are globally recognized and widely preferred within the industry.

Create a footing for all professions in art performance, acting, or filmmaking with an internationally recognized and accepted certification from ICE Institute. ICE was the first media and film institute to receive the ISO certification on quality standards and continues to make history within the industry.

We offer dual certification on selective courses with government certification. ICE is the authorized partner of Media & Entertainment Skill Council (MESC) which is promoted by FICCI & NSDC for setting standards while training and accreditation falls under (PMKVY) scheme of government of India. This is beneficial since MESC has a mandate to create a skilled workforce of 11.4 lakhs by 2022.
